11 FEB 2025 – PARIS, FRANCE | UNESCO 2025 International Day for Women and Girls in Science
In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly declared 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. On 11 February 2025, we will celebrate its 10th anniversary together at UNESCO Headquarters.
UNESCO Headquarters in Paris has invited Ayumi Moore Aoki to participate in the 10th anniversary celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
This milestone hybrid event brings together distinguished scientists, stakeholders, and students from around the world.
The program focuses on two crucial themes:
- The Power of Diversity and Inclusion in Shaping the Future of STEM
- Inspiring Change through Media Representation of Women in Science
The event will conclude with a special screening of “Women of Science” (“Électrons Libres”), a documentary showcasing the journeys of six European women scientists. Ayumi Moore Aoki joins other notable speakers for this significant celebration, which marks an important milestone in advancing gender equality in science and technology. The event aligns with UNESCO’s broader initiatives, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024-2033).
