Background: There are a wide range of national, regional and local STEM initiatives in Hungary. However, these initiatives are insufficiently coordinated and their quality is unevenly developed. There is a need for more high-quality public-private partnerships in STEM education both on the secondary and higher education level. The Hungarian state secretary of education, Mr. László Palkovics, tasked Obuda University with exploring and developing a coordinating platform based on existing best practices (Mr. Palkovicso was also present during the EU STEM Coalition's General Assembly meeting in Budapest which covered the same topic)
Objectives: To establish a coordinating STEM platform in Hungary focused on school-company cooperation in STEM
Results: The Hungarian STEM platform was officially launched on April 25, 2018. Initially the platform will coordinate existing programmes for school-company cooperation in STEM. For more information, please visit the website of the Hungarian STEM platform.
