The European Parliament adopted the resolution 'Promoting Gender Equality in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and careers'. The resolution which originates from the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) highlightes the underrepresenation of women in STEM educaiton and careers, and various challenges associated with it.
In the resolution the European Parliament calls on the Commission to support the EU STEM Coalition in the development of actions that promote uptake of STEM (higher) education and careers among women.
