As part of the SDG project (short for Sustainable Development Goals), Science on Stage has set itself the goal of developing hands-on examples with practical instructions that show how the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals can be integrated into STEM lessons.

For more than two years, 20 teachers from 12 countries worked together on this goal. The result is the teaching material "Act Now for the UN Sustainable Development Goals".

The material contains six chapters with different focal points. The students learn what the city of the future could look like, analyse real weather data from their region and look deeper into how everyday objects can be made from sustainable materials.

By connecting STEM to sustainability, learners who might not typically be interested in science and engineering can be attracted to those subjects and are encouraged to consider a career in this field.

The materials are suitable for STEM lessons in primary and secondary school: https://www.science-on-stage.eu/act-now-sdg
